The Prospects of Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture Were Discussed with the newly appointed ambassador of Syria

RA Minister of Agriculture Ignati Arakelyan today received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to Armenia, Mohammad Haji Ibrahim to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture. The information and public relations department of the RA Ministry of Agriculture is informed about this.


Congratulating the guest on starting the diplomatic mission in Armenia, Minister Ignati Arakelyan expressed hope that during his tenure, the Armenian-Syrian relations will continue to strengthen and develop.


Expressing gratitude for the assistance provided by the Armenian government, Ambassador Mohammad Haj Ibrahim stressed that Syria plans to further cooperate with the Armenian side both with the involvement of the state and private sectors.


In order to set and expand cooperation with Armenia on a more solid basis, the Syrian ambassador proposed to organize a recurrent sitting of the Armenian-Syrian Intergovernmental Joint Commission, like in in Damascus in 2009, in the near future in Yerevan. The ambassador expressed confidence that within the framework of the joint commission it is possible to have mutually beneficial cooperation.
